Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360: Who Should Get It In 2021?
Whenever the topic of “affordable vacuums” comes up, one of the first brands that we would recommend to people is Shark. The company’s reputation, after all, is built upon its highly successful series of budget-friendly upright vacuums.
But despite the pricing of their vacuums being so low, most of the reviews agreed that Shark vacuums have very decent cleaning performance. Their vacuum designs have also been reviewed by a lot of users and professionals alike to be great.
As arguably the most popular upright vacuum that Shark currently sells, the Shark Navigator Lift-Away NV360 has received a lot of attention from our readers.
But is the NV360 a good fit for you?
Well, that’s the question we’re going to be answering in today’s article!

What Is It Performance Like?
Before we can answer that question, though, let’s see how well the NV360 performs.
According to performance tests, the Shark Lift Away Deluxe Vacuum (NV360) does an acceptable job on bare floors. It can deal with dirt, dust, and small debris with relative ease. However, its performance falters slightly when it has to clean up pet hair. The NV360 would still suck them up, but it notably struggles while doing it.
The biggest issue for the vacuum on bare floors are large debris like cereal bits. The cleaning head has been reported to just push the debris away rather than suck them up.
Performance is quite good on carpets. This is quite surprising because budget vacuums typically don’t have very good efficiency on carpeting, especially thick ones. It seems like the NV360 defied the odds.
On low-pile carpets, the vacuum can deal with all sorts of debris: dust, debris of various sizes, even pet hair. The result is about the same on high-pile carpets, but its efficacy against debris isn’t as good as on low-piles.
The Design
From the outside, the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 NV360 fits snugly the stereotype of an upright vacuum: bulky and heavy. Indeed, it is a colossal vacuum and, weighing 14.3 pounds, it isn’t the most optimal model if you like something that’s lightweight.
However, the thing that sets it apart from other uprights is that it is a convertible vacuum. With a special design that Shark called “Lift-Away”, you can detach the NV360’s body and use it like a canister vacuum. It makes the Shark Navigator Lift Away NV360 significantly more portable and mobile, allowing it to do better certain jobs like cleaning the high ceiling, carpeted stairs, and the car.
Cleaning range isn’t very good. It has a 25 feet power cord, which may sound decent for most people. However, because most uprights nowadays come with 30 feet cord, this is definitely a disadvantage for the NV360.
The dust cup has an acceptable size. Its volume measures approximately 0.3 gallons and it can be easily and cleanly emptied.
Filtration is handled by a HEPA filter and Shark’s Anti Allergen Complete Seal technology. Both of which gives this vacuum remarkable filtering performance for a budget cleaner.

Who Should Get It?
If you look at it from the standpoint of performance, the NV360 would be a great fit for people whose house has a lot of carpeting. Despite having acceptable performance on bare floors, this vacuum shines best on carpets and rugs.
When design is taken into account, it’s clear that the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 wouldn’t do for people who want a lightweight and slim vacuum cleaner.
But with the super useful Lift-Away mode in the equation, you should really consider getting this vacuum despite the weight and the bulkiness. That is only if you don’t have medical conditions that can make using a heavy vacuum troublesome such as arthritis, of course.
Conclusion
Traditional upright vacuums like the Shark navigator NV360 can be a bit tough to use with their big size and heavy weight. But the familiarity and strong performance, according to most users, are well worth the effort and money spent!
